The London Guild of Toastmasters runs an annual training course
for those aspiring candidates to the profession. The course, in the techniques,
qualities and knowledge, is facilitated by a training professional and enjoys
the wealth of experience from Past Presidents.
We hold an annual course for aspiring Toastmasters, the next of which is
scheduled to take place in April/May 2008 at Chicheley Hall, near Milton
Keynes.
The tutors are all experienced Toastmasters with different insights to the
profession. Each session will be led by an expert in the field, usually a Past
President of the London Guild with many years experience. The course finishes
with a Core subject matter exam or quiz to enhance learning.
The training officer is Andy Bignold, who can be
contacted on 020 8549 6586, mobile 07950 022400 or by e-mail at:
Some comments from the end of course critique by previous
attendees of the course:
"An excellent investment: well done and thank you"
"The course I found intensive and very informative covering all the
relevant and important matters relating to the duties of a Toastmaster. The
course content and style of instruction were conducive to learning practice,
instilling confidence and enthusiasm in myself and other students on the
course. The vast experience demonstrated by yourself and other members of the
London Guild who assisted you gave assurance that I had chosen wisely in
attending your course."
"First Class: well done"
"Hugely Enjoyable: very informative"
" May I take this opportunity to thank you for all your help, patience and
understanding on my recent visit to Chicheley Hall. I Promise that I will now
do everything in my power to uphold the high standards set by The London Guild
of Toastmasters and be worthy of the Associate Membership I seek"
"A very good course"
"Thanks to all the Guild members who came"
"The after hours discussions, when tales were told, helped considerably in
filling the background"
"My sincere thanks for producing such an authoritative and demanding
seminar. It was first class and clearly had taken a huge amount of time and
effort to prepare. I know just how much commitment these things demand. Well
done"
"For my part I enjoyed every second of it. But that may have been
apparent! The content, students, tutors, venue and method were simply
outstanding"
"It is very important, when teaching, to create the right ambience. This
allows the students to easily assimilate the material and thus develop. You did
that magnificently"
"Once again my sincere thanks .. I look forward to our next
meeting"
"I received all I expected and more from the course"
"The course was just what I wanted in my ambition to become a successful
Toastmaster"
"I felt I wanted to write and say a huge Thank you for the excellent
Toastmasters Seminar this week. ... (I) came away feeling that I had taken part
in a highly professional and enjoyable experience as the first step towards a
new career. The location was, of course, absolutely superb but also very
fitting in providing the right setting for the skills that we were developing.
The combination of theory and practice was perfect and, for those of us who are
inexperienced in the toastmastering world, it provided an opportunity to learn
by mistakes without embarrassment"
